Do I Need To Use an Adware Spyware Uninstaller and Virus Cleaner?

By Ed Lathrop

Spyware is one thing a computer owner must deal with. Spyware is most concerned with stealing information about you but still it has the capacity to slow down your computer to the point you will be unable to use it. Viruses, on the other hand are out ruin your computer first and foremost. So as you can see, it is important protect your computer against both spyware and viruses.

Most people do have software installed on their computer that deals with spyware and viruses. Actually, most virus cleaners take care of ridding most spyware from a PC and most spyware cleaners will get rid of viruses. So it doesn't much matter which one you have installed on your PC, though I prefer using a spyware cleaner because they seem to be very proficient and usually, they are very cost effective.

You do however, want to have a spyware scanner or a virus scanner installed on your computer that will protect it against the spyware and viruses we will discuss in this article. We will also, talk about the horrible things these parasites can do to your computer.

The Malicious Stuff

The difference between spyware and adware is that adware wants information on you as a potential customer and spyware wants information about personal things no one should know except you. This information usually includes the likes of your banking information and passwords.

Everyone has heard of malware. Well, what we are saying when we use the word malware are the words "malicious and software." Malware includes: trojans, worms, phishing ware, bots, rootkits, browser hijackers and last but not least keyloggers. You should make sure your spyware or virus cleaner can clean out or arrest all of these.

The virus types of malware are destructive codes that are out to render your computer inoperable. Spyware and adware on the other hand are more interested in your finances and it is this kind of malware that is responsible for identity theft.

Sometimes a virus and spyware will team up on a computer or worse, the computer owner. For instance, a worm will be attached to a rootkit. The rootkit is capable of working its way into your computer's operating system and then the worm will unleash its terror on your computer.

Spyware, Gone But Not Forgotten

Earlier we found out spyware removal programs and virus removal programs were similar in nature. So, having both are not necessary. However, after spyware, adware, malware or any kind of software is removed from a PC, corruption is left behind in the computer's registry.

This means every computer should have a registry cleaner installed on it because when left alone, registry corruption will make your computer act a lot like some viruses and spyware make a computer act. This means the computer will lose speed and may crash frequently. A good registry scanner should be run once a month or so and after any malware has been removed. - 16069
